Event Structured Data
Schema.org Event markup that describes an event's name, date and location so Google can show it as an interactive event rich result in Search.
Definition
Event structured data is schema.org markup using the Event type that describes an event — its name, date, time and location — so Google can display it as an interactive event rich result in Search.
Event markup makes a page eligible for the event experience in Google Search, where events can appear with details such as dates and venues. It can be added by writing JSON-LD directly, or through a CMS plugin or event platform. Eligibility for the rich result does not guarantee Google will display it.
Examples
Concert listing
A venue marks up each concert with Event JSON-LD naming the performer, date and location. The concerts become eligible to appear as event rich results in Google Search.
Online event
A conference organiser sets eventAttendanceMode to online and adds a virtual location URL in its Event markup so Google can indicate the event is held online.
