Brand Voice (Shopify App)
Set tone of voice, do's, don'ts and brand notes inside the QueryCatch Shopify app so every generated meta title, alt text and blog post stays on-brand.
Brand voice in the Shopify app Brand voice is the source of truth QueryCatch uses every time it writes for your store. You set it once — tone, the things to always say, the things to never say, plus any extra notes — and QueryCatch threads those rules into every meta title, image alt text and blog post it generates for you. Brand voice is part of the Essential plan, alongside Keyword Research and the AI Blog Writer. Opening Brand voice Open the QueryCatch app in your Shopify admin. From the in-app navigation, pick Brand voice. Fill in tone, do's, don'ts and brand notes. Tap Save brand voice — your changes apply to every AI generation immediately Fields explained Default tone of voice — pick a preset (friendly, professional, playful…) or type your own (e.g. "warm and direct"); used whenever a feature has no specific tone assigned. Writing style — first person ("we", "our") or third person (the brand by name), applied to every generation. Tones of voice — a library of up to 12 tones; add a preset (Friendly comes with editable do's, don'ts and a definition you can change or remove) or create custom tones with your own name, definition, do's, don'ts and additional context. Writer avatars — up to 8 personas (presets like The Expert or your own) the AI writes as. Feature voices — assign a tone and avatar to each feature: AI Meta Data Optimiser, AI Image Optimiser and AI Blog Writer. Global do's — up to 25 short rules applied to EVERY generation, on top of any tone-specific rules (e.g. "Mention our 30-day returns"). Global don'ts — up to 25 short rules the AI must never break (e.g. "Never call our items 'cheap'"). Exclusive brands — up to 20 brands you exclusively retail, referenced naturally in meta data, blog posts and headings. Meta data rules — a fixed title suffix (e.g. "| Your Brand Name") appended to every AI-generated meta title with the AI writing the rest to fit 60 characters, plus up to 10 description snippets (e.g. "Free shipping on orders over $99") the AI includes word-for-word, one per description. Brand notes — free-form context (positioning, audience, taglines) up to 2,000 characters Do's and don'ts you saved before the voice library existed are your global rules — nothing was moved or removed. Your brand voice is stored per workspace — it travels with the store, not the device, and applies to every team member with access. Where brand voice applies Blog Topics — topic suggestions are biased toward your tone and rules. Blog Writer — full posts are drafted on-brand; the tone picker also lists your custom tones, and the blog's assigned tone is pre-selected. AI Meta Data Optimisation — meta titles and descriptions use the tone and avatar you assigned to the feature. AI Image Optimiser — alt text is written with the feature's assigned voice Tips Lead with the most important do's — the AI weights earlier rules more heavily. Be specific in don'ts — "avoid exclamation marks" beats "don't be too loud". Use brand notes for context that's hard to express as a rule — audience, positioning, taglinesDocumentation
