ChatGPT and other AI tools
Connect ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or another AI tool that supports MCP connectors to QueryCatch, with the same sign-in, permissions and safeguards as Claude.
ChatGPT and other AI tools QueryCatch connects to AI tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other apps. Any AI tool that supports custom MCP connectors with sign-in can use QueryCatch: the same address, the same QueryCatch sign-in, and the same permissions and safeguards as Claude. Claude is the assistant QueryCatch is designed and tested for. Other tools should work the same way, but each decides for itself how it asks you before running something that changes your site. QueryCatch's own safeguards always apply: the admin switches, the change log and Undo. Before you start In QueryCatch, a profile admin opens Profile settings → AI assistants and switches on 'Allow AI assistant access'. To let assistants make changes too, they also switch on 'Allow AI assistants to make changes'.. Copy the address shown under the switches. For most accounts it is https://www.querycatch.com/api/mcp.. Using QueryCatch inside Shopify? Switch access on in the app under Settings → AI assistants, and choose 'Inside Shopify' when the sign-in page asks. The guide 'AI Assistants (Claude and others)' explains the switches, what an assistant can and can't do, and how to see and undo its changes. All of it applies to every tool below. ChatGPT Custom connectors in ChatGPT depend on your ChatGPT plan. At the time of writing they need a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, on ChatGPT on the web, and a workspace admin may have to allow custom connectors first. ChatGPT's menu names change from time to time: if yours differ, look for Developer mode and creating an app or connector in ChatGPT's settings. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings and switch on Developer mode.. Create a new app or connector (in Settings → Apps), give it the name QueryCatch, and paste the QueryCatch address as its URL.. Choose OAuth as the authentication method, then save.. ChatGPT opens a QueryCatch page. Sign in if asked, read what the assistant will be able to do, and click Allow.. In a new chat, turn on the QueryCatch connector and ask a question about your site. Claude Code Add QueryCatch from your terminal, then run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in. claude mcp add --transport http querycatch https://www.querycatch.com/api/mcp Cursor Add QueryCatch to your MCP settings file (~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project). Cursor asks you to sign in to QueryCatch the first time it connects. { "mcpServers": { "querycatch": { "url": "https://www.querycatch.com/api/mcp" } } } VS Code (GitHub Copilot) Add QueryCatch to .vscode/mcp.json in your project, or run 'MCP: Add Server' from the Command Palette. VS Code asks you to sign in to QueryCatch when the server starts. { "servers": { "querycatch": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.querycatch.com/api/mcp" } } } Any other AI tool Add a remote MCP server (sometimes called a custom connector, or a Streamable HTTP server) with the QueryCatch address.. If the tool asks how to authenticate, choose OAuth. QueryCatch doesn't use API keys.. When the tool opens the QueryCatch sign-in page, sign in and click Allow. Tools that only support local MCP servers (run as a program on your computer) can't connect: QueryCatch is a remote server. On the consent screen QueryCatch shows the name the tool gave itself, marked as unverified, and the address it will return to. Check that the address belongs to the tool you are connecting.. Desktop and code-editor tools return to a program on your computer. The consent screen says so: only continue if you started the connection yourself, just now.. Every tool you connect appears in Profile settings → AI assistants → Your connections, where you can revoke it. If it doesn't connect Check that AI assistant access is switched on for the profile, and that you copied the address shown in Profile settings → AI assistants.. Check that your tool supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, and, for ChatGPT, that your plan allows custom connectors.. Still stuck? Email intel@querycatch.com with the name of the tool and what you see.Documentation
